In The Paint Basketball believes in the following core principles for youth development:
 

• Organized and structured programs.  We run organized and structured programs.  This supports our youth in adapting to structure and increases discipline on and off the court in the lives of our youth.  This frequently has lead to better behavior both at home and in the classroom.
• Year round programs.  We maintain a year-round program schedule.  By having programs that run year-round, we're available to provide much-needed programs for our communities.  You can count on us!
• Programs for beginners.  We have a history for developing youths that have never played sports before.  We understand that every child will not be the next Michael Jordan, but we add tremendous value to our children's lives by teaching them fundamentals, and helping them to grow in confidence on and off the court.  
• Strong Role Models.  ITP carefully selects the coaches and trainers that lead our programs.  We understand that coaches can be a major influence in a child's life.  Our staff provides a positive, encouraging and caring environment for our youth without compromising the discipline that is needed to assist them in becoming all that they can be.-
